Orioles Baseball

Eli's 9 year-old baseball team won tonight, bringing the Orioles' record to 5-0 and keeping them tied for first in the league.
In the top of the first inning of tonight's game, the Yankees first three batters reached safely, loading the bases with no outs. Eli was playing second base. The cleanup batter hit a line drive up the middle. Eli moved to his right, caught the ball in the air for the first out, then stepped on second to double up the runner on second. Then he made a perfect throw to first to double up the runner on first for a nice triple play.
At the plate, Eli was 3-3 with three singles and three RBIs.
Final score: Orioles 18, Yankees 10.

New Arrival
Finally announcing...
Isaac Christopher Jackson! Isaac was born on April 8 and will be five weeks today. He is a wonderful baby who adores the attention given by his siblings. Isaac weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz. at birth, has figured out night and day and brings happiness to each of us. We hope to post more photos and videos of the whole family soon.
The video below was taken about 30 minutes after Isaac was born and shows his first attempts to open his eyes and catch a glimpse of the world around him.

Weather in the Twin Cities

It's been a cold week here. It was 25-degrees below zero (and sunny!) in Maple Grove this morning. This is the coldest it's been in the Twin Cities for five years. People are talking about the big warm-up this weekend, with high temps in the low 20s. It's interesting how your perspective changes depending on your climate. Low- to mid-20s is warm? It sure feels like it, but technically, it's average for the Twin Cities this time of year. After this week, we'll take average any day.
